Wallet Guard — Acquired by Consensys
Montague Law served as counsel to Wallet Guard in connection with its acquisition by Consensys. Announced on July 3, 2024, the transaction brought Wallet Guard’s Web3 security technology and team into Consensys to strengthen security within MetaMask.
Wallet Guard developed tools for phishing detection, transaction analysis, and protection against digital asset scams. The acquisition connects that work with the broader MetaMask ecosystem.

DIGITAL IDENTITY · ACQUISITION
Proof of Passport / OpenPassport — Acquired by Self Labs
Montague Law served as counsel to Proof of Passport / OpenPassport in connection with its acquisition by Self Labs. Self Labs was founded by Celo core team members. Its February 25, 2025 announcement introduced Self Protocol following the acquisition of OpenPassport.
OpenPassport developed privacy-preserving identity technology using zero-knowledge proofs. Its work enables people to verify attributes from a passport without disclosing the underlying personal information to applications.
