John Montague is a seasoned attorney with deep roots in North Florida. Born in Jacksonville and raised on Amelia Island, John attended Fernandina Beach High School before earning his Accounting degree from Stetson University. He then obtained his J.D. from the University of Florida’s Fredric G. Levin College of Law, where he later served as a visiting professor, teaching Entrepreneurial Law in the College of Business.
With over a decade of legal experience, John has worked on high-profile real estate transactions as an associate at Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed, P.A. and later specialized in venture capital, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), and private equity transactions at Locke Lord LLP, a prestigious AM Law 200 firm. His expertise also extends to digital asset securities regulation and exchange compliance, advising national and international clients on cryptocurrency and blockchain-related legal matters.
Since founding his own firm in North Florida, John has focused on real estate transactions and estate planning, offering big law expertise with personalized service to clients in Amelia Island, Jacksonville, and beyond. Simultaneously, he maintains an active presence in the digital assets and cryptocurrency legal landscape, making him one of the most well-connected attorneys in this evolving industry.
Outside of his legal practice, John enjoys prone paddling, surfing, biking, hiking, and, most importantly, spending time with his wife and their two dogs, Benji and Cassie.
